The Virginia Beach Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Don Krudop, provides musical entertainment at its best. It is the oldest continuous performing arts group in Virginia Beach and is dedicated to quality performances and community service.
Founded in 1958 under the direction of Charles Dawes as part of a performing arts group with both vocal and theatrical interests, these two elements eventually evolved into the Virginia Beach Little Theater and the Virginia Beach Civic Chorus. Past directors have included Chuck Oliver and Walter Noona.
Now known as the Virginia Beach Chorale, the group performs a varied repertoire from classics to Broadway and rock to jazz. Each year the Chorale performs two main concerts, one during the Christmas season and one in the spring, with additional benefit performances throughout the year. Scheduled auditions for new members are held in September and in January of each year.
